I have spent most of my career working as a civil servant (most recently for the Scottish Government) in various roles within IT projects and programmes. For the last ten years I have been interested in effective and inspiring leadership and creating environments which improve people’s lived experience at work. This interest inspired me to train as a coach (Advanced Certificate in Coaching Practice, The Acorn Principle) and to develop skills in organisation development which led to me taking on the role of Learning and People Development Manager for my directorate in 2021.
I am an experienced counsellor having practised at the well-respected PF Counselling agency in Edinburgh. I have completed the rigorous core training in Transactional Analysis (TA) provided by Physis Scotland and draw on TA theory as well as other humanistic therapies and ideas in my practice. I am passionate about continuing my professional development and am working towards my CTA (Certified Transactional Analyst) psychotherapist qualification.
I am a member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and follow their code of ethics and complaints procedure.
I am a Registered Member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which means I follow their standards for professional development and supervision as well as their ethical framework.
I am an individual member of the Association for Coaching.
I am a licensed TIFF© (Temple Index of Functional Fluency) provider, and I love using the Functional Fluency model of behaviour to help people explore their relationship with themselves and interactions with others.
You can find out more about Functional Fluency on the Functional Fluency International website.
I love making music with others, I enjoy baking, and I am inspired by nature.
